Why did MC became Kanada, though? In chapter 1 his name is clearly spelled out as かんだ.

Also, is "pool together" on page 9 correct English? Never heard it and was thinking it should be "pull together", but google brings up such use cases, and, i guess, it has some sense to it.

Yup. “Pool together” is an English idiom, meaning “ To unify, consolidate, or join together the efforts or resources of a group or team.”

Googling that phrase with “idiom” will give you some more references.
