Is there a manga you would like either, or both, or your parents to read, for any reason, or no reason in particular?
The thread has been given birth thanks to the copulation between me and Punpun AMV's, the ejaculation being the moment I realized I'm so ready for my father to read Oyasumi Punpun. I might buy it solely for said purpose.
If I had to give reasons, 1 because he has never read any manga, 2 because his views are normally really interesting, incorrect and wise and 3 because recommending Punpun to anyone is either an existential curse or an existential bliss, one of your choice.
I'll pretend I'm interested in others' contributions, so deliver.

If I could ever get my mother to read a manga, I think it would have to be 3-Gatsu no Lion or perhaps Your Lie In April.

She's always been a bit leery of Japanese media in general, mostly because my taste in anime/manga hasn't always been...pure, to put it lightly. I'd like to be able to show her that manga is just as valid a form of entertainment art as a movie, a book, or a video game. Both of those titles deal with some pretty heavy subjects while showcasing some beautiful art.

I once gave mom a volume of Yotsuba to read but I don't think she ever bothered

My father will be happy to read if it is related to any Nazi / German / real world history / Detective or Something that require logical thinking even if it is a manga , since our hobby is to read anything and everything then analyze them . So it's easy for me to offer him a manga .

My mother on the other hand , will read any cliche soap-opera with heavy dose of drama inside . So maybe 3-gatsu / shigatsu uso / koe no katachi will suit her preference , but since she is anti-japan (when japan occupy our country she was still a little girl who was oppressed and worked so badly by Japanese imperial collony) , so yeah ...

They are loads of live actions in Japanese drama that's originally from lightnovels and manga.

I found those of the older generation still enjoy the 12 episode dramas even if they've never read or watched any manga/anime.

What is worse? To kill or raising to kill?
