I'm not sure the year was that bad for them. Proper Human History being gone is just a day at the office. It's fine. And at least this time, even if they lose, there will still be some kind of human history left in place, rather than fiery death.

The loss of Chaldea's base was annoying for a while, but they got a replacement.

I guess the only real bummer is all the genocide he's had to make, as well as the genocide he still has to perform.
