MC may be a complete and total dick, but the whole "kidnapping people and forcing them into a groundhog day loop until they become a paragon of virtue" thing is pretty fucked up in its own way. I'm sure after enough loops you stop seeing the world's inhabitants as living beings and as video game NPCs as well.
