What does the school give these kids in Fight Class 3? Trauma?

Well, they are not kids or people, they are literal killing machines ment for making money.

It's official. Jiu Ji-tae has achieved "broken" status after reaching maximum despair.

What Maria did to him really messed him up. Now it looks like losing is simply not an option anymore.

I'm 'fine' with the MC snapping and all...but when the fuck did it happen? Like I knew everything was getting to him, but last we saw him he wasn't totally crazy, just 'desperate'...what did we miss

@WillLi
Exactly, author need to do a flashback with what happened in between, their thoughts etc...
Cause I feel like this was almost like a skip in between and it makes the story telling inconsistent and lack harmony.
Especially if Ji-tae has broken so much. I hope he regains his honor down the line and learn a life lesson from all of this, cause at this point He just behaves like a psychopath.

It hurts to see my boy like this. I can only hope someone can snap some sense into him.

My pure baby didn't want to disappoint MMA queen and turned psycho just for her. He needs better. Someone help.

@WillLi @kryssN Imma have to disagree with you guys on this.

Chapter 72 already showed him to be pretty much "broken". The scene with Ji-eun was his breakdown and the moment he decided to throw everything away for the sake of finding his sister.

The point of the scene was to showcase not only his desperation but also his resolve to achieve his goal by any means necessary. Even if that means following the path of violence and, in the process, becoming what he hates the most (the vivid image of his father).

The fight with Young-joon was not only a fight to prove his strength, during the fight he made a final effort to remain true to what he believed in. That's why he decided to not use the glass and use strategy instead in order to turn the tides of the fight. He managed to do so and almost got the upset. But one final moment of doubt cost him, not only a broken nose but to be humiliated by Maria, the person he considered his mentor and to that point, the closest thing to having a family again.

So now he's forcing himself to do things the way Maria does things. Even if he hates violence, even if he thinks it's wrong. He's convinced himself that there's no other way to achieve strength ad improve as a fighter. And who could blame him? So far, sticking to his beliefs an ideals only ended with him coming short time and time again.

I will admit that the contrast with his "normal" self is pretty shocking, but is not as if it comes out of nowhere. There have been other moments where Jiu Ji-tae showcased his violent side.

Damn I wonder how Ji-eun and Ok-dong will react to him. And his classmates too. Maria done fucked him up.

@gptemp8916 You like vastly missed the point of my post dude. Chapter 73 does not show the MC -like this-. He is 'breaking' maybe, but last we saw him he was still 'sane'. Desperate and determined but 'sane' the MC has never been 'insane' before. The situation here isn't an issue of "He shouldn't be like this" or saying that this isn't warranted or that there were no hints. The thing we're talking about is the actual moment that he broke was not shown, so there is whiplash at this. The last time we see him he's fighting with his 'humanity' and the realization that he needs to fight people to save his sister. But we didn't actually see him snap, or make the decision to abandon everything. It'd be like watching Goku start to power up in DBZ, and then when you come back from a commercial he's already in a new form and fighting.

There is no 'point' in a destruction of a character's personality and ego if you skip the breaking moment, because now there's no anchor and significance to it, it's just 'there'. Yeah we know why it supposedly happened, but it happened off screen so there's no investment in it for us the readers.

But one final moment of doubt cost him, not only a broken nose but to be humiliated by Maria, the person he considered his mentor and to that point, the closest thing to having a family again.

That's the most fucked up part. And the sad thing is that he actually showed that he can become stronger doing things "his way". I mean, he was just a finishing blow away from taking down one of the top 4 students in his year. But failing to do so and Maria "dunking on him", as you said, pretty much convinced him that his beliefs are useless when it comes to fighting and that the only path to achieve strength is embracing violence the same way Maria does.

@WillLi Didn't it happen in 72? He doesn't show up in 73. His eyes were already crazy at the end of 74. I think it has been a few days from the looks of his healed face so it's likely it happened there. The author drew it like this so it's implied that he broke down or at the very least is "acting."
