I'm wondering about the time/distance the ambulance drivers were talking about? Why did he have to swim 1000m to save the girl, she was right there? Also the rescue guy they talk about swimming 500m in 10min, I don't think that is anything special is it? Now 1000m in 10min is good, but I don't think it would be shocking for someone to be able to do that.
