Fixing chapters

I’ve noticed in many titles that not many groups follow rules for numbering chapters. Some don’t even provide a chapter or volume number when there is. This sometimes poses a problem for me because it puts those chapters above the rest. Some groups to translate to other languages upload chapters without adding volume numbers. This causes those chapters as well to be placed above those chapters of the same number, but with a volume number.

Here are some examples:
https://mangadex.org/title/27136
https://mangadex.org/title/29728

I don’t know what a good fix to this could be. Maybe alter sorting methods or adding an option for certain users to fix these chapters. I’ll let you guys decide that. Thanks.

@acs87 Report the chapters using the report button in the reader to have the numbering on them fixed

Mass reports can just be detailed in one big report

I’ve seen a couple titles, not too many though, but there’s a decent amount of chapters with incorrect numbering. Any way to batch report them or something?

Oh yeah, @Plykiya. I think this might be a separate issue, but How NOT to summon a demon lord is a very good example. Some titles have strange chapter numbering and MangaDex thinks they have missing chapters. Should this be submitted as a bug?

@acs87 Technically not a bug, just a weird manga setup. It's a bad idea to automatically assume decimal number chapters are whole chapters because most titles on the site use decimals more like bonus pages or extras. We wouldn't be able to know how many .x parts there are to a chapter so we would essentially never know if we had everything or if there was stuff missing if we tracked decimals

Do you think I’d be possibly to add an option when adding titles to disable chapter tracking or something?

@acs87 Disable the missing bug tracker on certain titles? It's something to consider I guess, if we know it's a false flag.
