Nah unless it disintegrates even the molecule's it probably would cause even more harm than leaving it alone seeing as the remains could be carried by the wind into a large body of water and block the surface, so that when the sun shines on it, it will reflect the sunlight and can cause humongous problems, especially if there is so much of it.
