Fugai nai Koi - Vol. 1 Ch. 5 - Final Chapter + Miscalculation

Holy fucking shit, I can see why this story is called Cowardly love. I don’t really give a shit about Masaki. This dude started out with no face and was talking about how Yukito’s worth is just his body. And then suddenly he’s a love rival who’s always been in love with him and booHOO HOO everyone in the comments became attached? Second, god the couple is so annoying. BOTH YUKI AND KAI. I started this series like a happy, hopeful kid but was severely disappointed in the end. They were SO frustrating. Even until the first few pages of the last chapter, he rejected him????? And then rejected the other guy too and went back again?? Oh my fucking god, I nearly burst a blood vessel reading this shit. I got out of my damn bed at 8 in the morning because I couldn’t contain my anger and just had to write this lmao.

Rant and personal thoughts aside, thank you for working on this nonetheless! The team’s hard work is always appreciated.

Ngl I was kind of hoping the story would go off of a usual yaoi I track and yuki would’ve ended up with masaki... nevertheless, it was still a nice read and thank you for translating!!

first - thanks so much for the scanlation gg! your group's scan quality is always impressive <3

second - when masaki confessed I let out an audible "huh"... like he had zero character development and I would've been fine with it if he was a generic replacement lover, but an unfortunate love rival?? Uhh, Hitoe-sensei, it's ok not to use every cliche in the BL playbook.
Also... it's already bad enough to emotionally beat down a sex friend, to treat the person you actually like that way is even worse. My sympathy for masaki went from "meh" to absolute zero after this chapter.

I know misunderstandings are at the heart of (almost) every yaoi, but the conflict in this final chapter was soooo unnecessary. It would've been time much better spent if Yuki had just accepted Keiichi's confession at the beginning of the chapter instead of the mangaka spending half of it trying to shoehorn in one final conflict. Overall I liked this series, but this final chapter was a big ?????? for me
