I wonder if his experience with the first girlfriend is why he’s so insecure about the possibility of a relationship with Tsubaki. It seems they’ve ended things unresolved and all it’s done is fester negative emotions in both of them, which impacts how they both view Tsubaki, even when she’s very independent from those ideas.
I love her!! She’s such a kind and positive soul. I like the friend a lot. He’s a refreshing character in a shoujo. They all are, really.

I think ppl too harsh on ML. He's disable. All his life ppl probably pity him and treat him like a broken glass when he wanted to be treated like others (normal ppl). When someone like him, he bound to have doubt about it bc his insecurities. It's just a defence mechanism so he wouldn't get hurt.
And it's not wrong to have good relationship with your ex. Sometimes there's ppl you better be friends with than in a relationship. Fl jealousy understandable but i bet there's nothing between ML and His ex.

This is the probably the first time I'm having a second lead syndrome.
It's not that I don't like senpai, I get where he's coming from, let's just say I knew what it was like living side to side w ppl like these, more often than not, they're kind of shunned by society. So it's not that he's being wishy washy and all, it's just so hard if all of your whole life you're treated as if you're a nuisance.
I think he's conflicted that if he ever reciprocates her feelings he's afraid that she might get the same treatment as him, while the chance of living normal life (post surgery) is right in the front of her eyes.
I'm rooting for the 2nd ml because I have a thing w black haired guys and also if FL choose him, most likely she'll face less problems in her life in the future than if she's dating senpai

I feel for ML and his struggles, he is an interesting character and I want to see him happy but not with FL. Their romance just doesn't work so much for me, he's right and they aren't suited for each other (even though we all know he's actually just saying that bc society has left him insecure about this stuff). So far FL has had better chemistry with SL and Ex is just a mess so I do not want to see her and ML get back together.
@nehammerchant124 What the friend said is true he just said they don't suite each other because he only knows her as a cheerful kind person. MC hasn't really gotten to know the entire her. She isn't always cheerful she also has problems and insecurities. So if he's basing their not suiting each other off of this superficial impression he has off her he's gonna regret it. I think FL has better chemistry with SL cause he seen more of her (struggle, perseverance etc) than the ML has. Given the opportunity I think FL will have chemistry with ML as well.
