Gal to Bocchi - Ch. 20

@EnergyY2407 I lost motivation partway through working on Chapter 19, I'll get back to it. There isn't any important continuity between 19 and other chapters.

That's a teacher that truly cares about her students. That's the kind of teacher that will never leave your memory.

Uhg, the whole culture behind makeup is gross. What's sick is that people make such a huge deal about women's appearance to begin with, whether they wear it or not, someone's going to be judging the quality of their character based on it. But once you take out double-standards, cultural consensus is that makeup is uncool.

Women can wear "men's" things, short hair, pants, nobody makes a huge fuss about it, and back in the days when they did, it was this possessive sort of "that's ours," kind of thing. But when men wear "women's" things like makeup, people don't say "that's ours," they say, "why would you want to in the first place, is something wrong with you?"

Oh wow this hits close to home. I'm in my late 20s and I'm still rubbish at makeup, I just try and keep things simple... Would I be more successful if I was better at it? Maybe. I'd probably be more memorable and not so plain

thank you for the chapter, and was young Yanagi sensei visually appreciating some of her classmates in that flashback scene?

The fact that makeup skils are required for zomen to master is purely horrifying...

But also as a man I woudl definitely have been fun to learn how they work when in school lol
Even just the basic even those that fool around will at least become familiar with them and it will just become something that isn't "unnatural"

The requirement to wear make-up and the whole culture around it, especially in Japan, is disgusting.

@Tsukinotaku I feel like makeup, both fashion and stage techniques would be something very cool to learn as an elective or something in high school. Squeezing it into the college bound crush on the other hand would be a pain. At least at my old high school it would be, where if you weren't overachieving you were falling behind.
