Getenrou - Vol. 1 Ch. 9 - Ario

A boatload of fucked-up in a full circle story. These are the type of works you can really binge on.

This chapter was a series of w.t.f. moments... culminating in an unexpected ending.

A masterful ending, to be sure. It's just that, after all the comedic events in the previous chapters, this was a sharp left turn into genuine tragedy. Somewhat unusual for Ishiguro-sensei. I was lulled into thinking that this series too was essentially slice-of-life set in a run-down dystopia. Got me good.

Wow, that is certainly more than I bargained for when I started this manga. But the story is really well told and especially the way the separate stories in the beginning are shown to be all connected in the later ones.

It's bugging me a bit that in ch. 3 it seemed as though they had obtained a robot with a human-like personality. Wasn't that what glasses guy wanted?
