For example the crest the empress just gave him, under what circumstances would he use something like that, make the empress throw away whatever important thing she was doing and go help you? obviously that situation would be when he's in danger while facing a powerful enemy, that would make sense, but it loses all its meaning when you realize he's in a game. there's no real danger that justifies making her do that (if you care about her, even as an NPC, as he does).
