That is what they do XD Granted, they had to hit the dragon with different guns, with even the maid covering it in grenades, until it got to the point they just bombarded it with Panzerfaust fire. Funnily enough, it STILL lived... but as a lizard sized dragon.

the only thing I can think of that would make sense for guns to work when magic cannot is that it uses the magic it is attacked with to regenerate itself, but bullets don't have magic. This is just a guess since while I have read it I completely forgot.

So it either eats the magic you use against it to regenerate, making it unkillable in a world of magic, and the guns and things he makes can harm it due to their non-magical nature...
Or they f*** it up and the elf throws the 'dust' into her spatial storage , stopping it from ever being a problem again.

Those are the only ways I'm thinking of being able to win off the top of my head.
