I just realized something. The Church’s power comes from the people’s fear of the vampires. If the vampires are all gone, then the Church’s power will decline. So I think it’s beneficial to the Church for them to keep some of these vampires alive (well enough for them to keep terrorizing the people). So that might be what the old oath was about... maybe... just speculations here.

@Xari yes. Chapter 11 will be out tomorrow, and that will be the last one before we have to wait for new content to come out.
Chapter 12 comes out on the 17th. We should have it ready within that week, and then we gotta wait a whole month thereon after sadly.

I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s Dolores’s true feelings at the moment. Guess we’ll have to wait and see. But it’s not like they’ve been together for a long time, and I think she’s been playing at Maria’s heart strings to get her to cooperate.

And while we haven’t seen much of their downtime, I can’t imagine Maria’s been doing a whole lot of training with the cross, so maybe Dolores needs to recognize that you can’t throw someone a new weapon and expect them to be proficient at it right away, especially against a stronger opponent.

thank you for another awesome chapter, and for the 3 day weekend of releases, I'm so happy that Doctor J survived although mildly bummed we didn't get to see her transformation. I think we've also discovered what best girl Shannon's equivalent of lewd handholding is. Hm... the old oath may some attempt by the vampires trying to use the church for population control of the the thralls/minions and to keep the purebloods from over hunting the local human population and ensuring only the worthy amongst the vampires are able to survive and pass on their lineage sorta things. Crowd control & survival of the fittest via the church. Father Marco for the win. Honestly I liked the scene with the pope and the guest because it seemed to establish that there is more then one faction in the purebloods.

Though I have a question regarding the series at the beginning it pointed out there were a multiple different types of monsters that the church dealt/hunted but in this region vampires were the more numerous or more frequently encountered. For those in the know .... with only one more... chapter that's translated that's to be released before the series is caught up, will this be the case moving forward do you think or will some of the other monster types also occasionally make an appearance in order to flesh out the world more?

Wow surprisingly great chapter on characterization. For now Dolores still sees Maria nothing more than a mean to achieve her goal, and vice versa. Both are using one another but to what end? Good setup for the future story.

Also Dr Vagina has Noel in captivity, and seems like she's being driven to her vampire desire to succ blood and only that.
