The funny thing is, Taiyou could have gotten out of that confrontation with Asahi easily. Asahi and Shio look very, very similar. Same hair, same eye color. It wouldn't be much of a leap to say that Taiyou just approached him and assumed he was the right person based on the similarities in appearance.
