He was the one who sewed seeds of doubt between Joe and Yuzu, just because he wanted to get Yuzu for himself.
He was the one who ignored the fact that Madoka hated the Hare-kon concept, but only went along with it because she loved him so much.
He was the one who basically bought Koharu into the Hare-kon and then used guilt and mental games on her to eventually make her fall for him.

How has Ryuu harmed ANY of his wives? All he's ever done was give them the emotional support they needed at the time.
Joe and Yuzu were doomed from the get-go. Love isn't enough to live on when poor decision making and poor inpulse control collide.
Madoka didn't just love Ryuu, she idolized him. And he let her do that as its what she deeded at the time. And when she ralized that he was just a man, she'd had the time to grow into someone who could stand on her own and find her own happiness.
He didn't BUY koharu, she sold herself to him. She could have chosen to walk away from the money, but she didn't because her CULTURE told her that she should do whatever it takes to support her family. You can't MAKE somoen fall in love with you, what he did was help her to move past her trauma and be able to love someone without fear.

@Raudhbjorn emotional support? Go back and read the chapter where he was trying to pressure Koharu into sex, he literally told her that she was his property. He literally said "I have stolen your freedom, Legally" When she took of her wedding ring, he told her that would do no good unless the entire family signed papers allowing her to leave.
She did try to walk away from him, but her crappy mother pushed her back to him.
If her culture made her marry him, then it's just as likely her culture and his mind games are making her stay with him. Battered spouse syndrome is a real thing, so yes manipulative people can mentally batter people into thinking they love them.

She has an emotional dysfunction. He's trying to help her and she already agreed to marry him. She COULD have walked away, but she was more afraid of failing her parents than whoring herself to a stranger. She's fucked up and he has done NOTHING but help her get well. EVERY time she's said "stop" he stopped.
