Him absorbing the demon core would make the most sense tbh. Mo wouldn't do it himself, so we need the sword demon spirit to do it for him.

It's all a play to throw people off Mo's scent, intimidate the senior sister, have cultivators running around causing chaos while stunting their growth, recruiting or getting a favor from the Demoness, the search for some long dead cultivator that'll bring pressure to Mo.

Well definitely, once Mo will escape from the spirit realm and reclaim his body (the master explained that this chapter).
Still definitely want to a see a reason for why Big Sister did the betrayal. Was it really just for greed?
The use of the word borrow does indeed increase the chances of demonness' survival! :) Since the translators seem very competent in picking up other nuances, I think we can be rather hopeful.

I can't stop comparing cultivators to a plague, these guys just roam the land killing and destroy things and live beings just because of the desire for immortality when in the end those that achieve it just discover that eternal life is boring and unfulfilling.

I can understand why the killed all great demons, it was a matter of survival, but there is so much that they seem to drive to extinction for something so dumb.

To me the search for "immortality" being the prime reason for all of this is so boring, that is why i am liking Mo he is searching for something more, more basic and much more important than eternal life.

Anyway really hoping the hot demon woman isnt dead, or severely weakened, i really want to see how her relationship with Mo will develop and it hurts me but i have to admit the cat bastard was pretty badass.

@alacaelum she is not dead, she is a normal beast now, she keeps to live but lost all her powers, she is a bird now.
Immortality only fails if you are a boring bastard without anything interesting to do with your life, interact with more old people and ask them if they would like to live another 40 years, or if they would like to die next week.

@alacaelum They are still mortals with base desires. Taking into account that the MC and the characters around him are from a demonic sect things will naturally be more chaotic. Cultivation itself is no easy road and requires extreme will, if not obsession, so cultivators will naturally be willing to go to greater lengths to accomplish their objectives than regular people would. They're the extremes of humanity. So in a sense you're right that they are like a plague, but basically just as much as humanity is.

The Dao is so much more than just immortality though and it is very rarely true immortality, they only live longer lives. If you simplify it, it could be described as a never-ending search for the truth of the world, so saying that an eternal life is unfulfilling seems a bit short-sighted, since just by the Dao existing there would always be something to "do."

@Arc I am no expert, and even the knowledge i know is superficial at best, but i know a little of the concepts of Dao and truth be told i can respect driven people even the obsessed and ruthless, but these guys rub me the wrong way.

I don't know how to put in words precisely, my eloquence is lacking, but let's say just that in this phase of my life i am now i have a certain view of things, i can respect almost any way of living even if i don't agree with it but to me a certain level of true respect for others is demanded.
