Oddly enough people say that actually works. You touch your ear to relieve yourself when you accidentally touched something hot from your hands as it transfers the heat to your ear which is a good conductor of heat TIL.

Pretty lewd here though, pretty sure it made him even hotter lol.
 
@SeekingSolace when you burn your fingertips you're supposed to touch your earlobe, I believe it's because there's a lot of blood there so it will cool your burn quickly
