Hope it is better explained next chapter, cause I don't get it. Though I am surprised that most of them wouldn't know several languages unless they all lived in a village that only used one tongue before they ventured out. All the North African guys I know speak English and 2 or more other languages, yet they have numerous species which have different ways of functioning which would make it harder.

We've had foreshadowing in previous chapters about eating dead people, so it looks like Centaurus will be... "put to use" in such a fashion. RIP.

@Liquidxlax You're talking about the modern world where traveling and communication have been made incredibly easier. In a medieval-like world like HL's, it's not surprising for not-so-distant people not to speak the same language, particularly if they have strong morphological and psychological differences to begin with.
