yup once you get past them having to build a sex robot in the 1800s, and later a frankenstien cat girl in the same century, and the oversexed brain powered space fighter craft. Nothing really shocks you much anymore in this series and that was an interesting hybrid of titanic, the little mermaid, and Moby Dick. That's symbolic Ariel maintaining vigil over the beach in case he survived and ever tries to return to land.
