The whole historical fiction aspect is nice, but her annoying childhood freind that is (not historically inaccurately, I suppose) constantly sexually harassing her, and who forms the other arm of a love triangle... just ruined it for me. Couldn't get past a few chapters with how uncomfortable his constant presence made me feel—not like it was unbearable, mind you, it just wasn't fun to read anymore.
