What you call 'simping' I call "owning up to responsibility". He still feels responsible as she was only attacked because she was with him. If he cares about her in any way(which he clearly does), one thing he could have done once he got back on his feet and his confidence back was to apologize, since, again, he felt responsible for putting her in harms way. But I also get that he was embarrassed to see/talk to her after his... "display" in front of her, so its not a big deal breaker to me personally. I only was saying that I understood why Bomi felt the way she did and agreed.
