I hate to compare between scanlation groups like this, but the other group that also translated the promo chapter have higher quality in regards to dialogue and whatnot.

These scans feel more like they were machine translated and translated too literally with nit much regard to making the sentences flow or flexibility in making them easier to understand. It ends up sounding unnatural.

There's nothing wrong with sticking as close to the original language as possible, but it's also good to take some liberties when translating to other languages.

I know she is most likely retarted, since the MC of those stories are usually retarted in some way, but that is still the best possible situation.

white (for Asian, not racism)= beautiful, good, rich
brown/tanned = ugly, bad, poor
thin/slim = beautiful
overweight = shame/ugly
flawless skin = beautiful
moles/freckles/scars/pimples = ugly
Just look at Kpop idols, none of them are brown/tanned, a slightly chubby girl got body shaming until she managed to lose weight.

I feel like I've seen that frame with the skulls before in another webtoon.. I remember first seeing it and thinking what great detail but I guess it's just an asset xD

@ShuckyDuckyJr i think it's less the appearance and more her personality/achievements which seemed lacking in comparison to her siblings. She only started binge eating after all the ridicule, so they were looking down on her even before that.

I surmise that her brothers were intelligent (hence the library), and her sister more beautiful and carried herself better in society.
She might not be ugly exactly, maybe just average. But average in comparison to model-esque beauties when that's the expectation is the issue. It's hard to tell "beauty" apart when all their faces are the same
