This is such weak bait (and extending for 3 BLOODY chapters). If it goes like the cat want then the outcome will be the MC getting really, really angry(maybe even tossing the cat out), which goes against the premise of the manga.
It is only your typical MC's old friend making the resolution test on a newcomer.
