WN is short for webnovel. LN is short for light novel.
I've been wanting to read the webnnovel (usually japanese webnovels are free to read because it's on a free hosting site).
The popular ones usually get offered a publication and are made into light novels. But the authors sometimes continue their webnovels.
The difference between WN and LN can vary.
LN is usually the polished version, editors would offer advice or change things. Characters are usually added and the order of the story may change.
However, the WN is purely all the author's own thoughts. So it's like an untapered version of the story. What the author would have wanted the story to turn out as.
So the WN is like an uncensored story sometimes but also not as good (USUALLY).
