I'm Nearly 30, but This Is My First Love - Vol. 2 Ch. 12

As I left high school some years ago, I like being able to read a romance about people about my age.

Cute and wholesome as always.

Nice little observation about the age gap between them. Gaps in age when you're younger are so much wider compared to their current ages.

Guy is crazy that girl earned a kiss after dropping a line like that and he does NOTHING

I guess he is still learning after all....

His inner dialogue is always hilarious. Also this series is absolutely adorable.
It's series like this that (as unrealistic as I think they may be) give me hope for the future.

Why is it popular in manga to make late 20s and early 30s characters unathletic? Assuming all other variables are constant, you should be at or near your peak testosterone levels during that time. Maybe some increased reaction time is understandable but your stamina should be still very high.

@Yourself

In school a lot of kids in Japan do a lot of sports via clubs and PE class, etc. By the time you’re in your thirties you’ve probably spent a good 8-10 years alternating between sitting at a desk, drinking with co-workers, eating shitty food and not getting enough sleep. Pretty good reason to become soft.

Great chapter, but I gotta admit I'm really in this for the side couple! Looking forward to more :)

@Yourself I'm 22 and I can already feel my body getting out of shape compared to high school days.

Since compulsory PE are no longer a thing after high school graduation, you won't get that many chance to actually workout (unless you have the interests in it, ofc. Most of my uni days are just lazing around, either doing school projects, playing games or reading weeb stuffs)

Is it weird that this manga reminds me how I was when I first started dating my wife? All nerves and butterflies? 🤔

I get why people like this, but it's like pure sugar. Very sweet, but not much else.

@Yourself

You're absolutely right. Things don't really start going downhill until your mid-30s, and even then it's not as dramatic as this chapter makes it out to be. If this dude's still in his 20's but can't handle a day at an amusement park, then he's in really poor health. How could he expect to be able to handle children if he can't even take care of himself?

@seekermoc
If this dude's still in his 20's

He's 32 though (chapter 7 when telling the 2 friends why he lied about his experience), and she's 28 (Chapter 5, also hence the name of the manga)

Plus having a lot of stamina means nothing when you get motion sick easier as you age
