Intersecting one's own MDList with someone else's

Most of the people I see on this site who have a public MDList have absurdily huge lists, comprising of 50-100 manga if not more. So I thought it would be nice to have a tab (next to "Dropped", "Re-reading", etc.) that shows you the manga from that person's MDList that are also present in your own. It's an immediate sign of how compatible that person's tastes are with yours, without you having to go through the trouble of skimming through 10+ pages of results just to see if there are any manga you recognize.

This is a good idea. I'm sure someone either has or could make a script displaying the same mangos you both have added, the ratio of same/not same, etc. Cross-referencing scores too would be great.

Just be sure to ask for consent before intersecting. Although, I guess if a user has their MDList as public already, they don't mind intersecting with anyone, social and physical consequences be damned.

Those are some rookie numbers you're using as a minimum baseline for 'huge lists'. Try 10x that (500-1000 manga).

@justforthelulz Heh, you're totally right. Though that's certainy the minimum value beyond which it basically becomes impossible to find the manga you're following there, unless there's some automated system that retrieves them with just one click.

@bigtiddyoneesan If someone's MDList is public, then there's no problem with allowing anyone to search it and look for the manga they are already following. I mean, you can do that even now... it's just that you'll have to do it by hand and it will take you two hours with some of the very long lists some users have.

I understand and agree with your point. I was just making a sex joke.

intersecting = big seccs
intersecting with any user that wants to = (you see what I'm getting at here)
