Thank you for posting.
It certainly is strange and dark. My impression of Japan, from manga and the press, is of an orderly and peaceful society. There is also a strong sense of intolerance, according to some other accounts about life there. But there is a level of underlying violence and dehumanization shown here that is at odds with the 'cleaner' image that is often shown.

So, is Japan more like the clean, orderly, safe place we mostly read about, or more like the dark, dehumanizing one we see here?
