Even if they helped the country, if the citizens of said country aren't willing to rise up to protect it, what's the point?
Eventually, it'd get taken over by someone else who may potentially be even worse. At which point, they may never be able to rise back up again.

Oh wow these people are so entitled. Even after golden hamster prevented a whole village of children from being kidnapped, these people are complaining about it! They are so ungrateful and selfish. And it has also been revealed that there are traitors.

@Ringz I so glad you pointed this out. Even after being colonised for over a decade, the people of this country are not willing to fight back. Even worse is that some even betrayed their own country, how could you expect them to not betray a foreign fleet that chose to help them.
