Isekai Kenkokuki - Vol. 4 Ch. 28.1

Yeah, I think the shield would have absorbed enough thrust to make that non-lethal. But super-strength.
Well, Ferme had honor at least. Shame he got baited into fighting an isekai MC; always a losing prospect.

"I mean this super strength is plain out cheating and it is common in other isekais but this time, I really don't like the cheating for some reason, no idea why."

Why are people complaining that the pacing's too fast; don't you want to see Almus porking his two wives sooner? 😈

It should be noted that in a 1-vs-1 situation with shield the sword has a big advantage. A sword has shorter range but it is more flexible compared to a shield meaning with a sword it is possible to flank the shield making possible to inflict wound unto the enemy. Since the spear is long and the only effective attack is a thrust it is possible to block the attack with a shield and then close the range to attack with the sword.

The king should have known this that giving our MC a sword basically gives him a huge disadvantage. A better way would have been to give the MC his spear and draw his sword giving him the edge in the fight.

(For those wondering in a fight 1-vs-1 without shield the spear is the better weapon or if two armies clash, shield an spears wins because the spears are covered also by the neighbours shield, making it nearly impossible to avoid the shield with a sword.)

Now he should get rid of ash just because the king tried to order him otherwise. Oh, and ofc make sure the kingdoms remains fractured. It is not ok to try to use your death to order strangers, its just plain rude and manipulative.

@Eonlars
Could be because this time the story is making it like only the MC has the cheat. In the usual Isekai the MC has some cheat habilities but everyone else can use magic/skills just like the MC but not as OP as the MC does.
Only one I can remember that is not like that is "I Shall Survive Using Potions!" and in it the author makes sure to make the MC not be as active as Almus is in this one.

When Ferme drove his knee into Almus' gut, my first thought: "You should've stabbed him with the spear." If he had the time to close in, he could've gotten 2 shots to Almus' left side. Sure, they would've been shrugged off because "Isekai" but it would have built up the tension.

That line about Kendo's footwork made no sense other than to prop Japan. I also do not recall any mention of Almus practicing Kendo in his former life.

yes, yes, have a nice slow paced and friendly dialog while attempting to kill each other.

@boag
Give him a balista grade bolt instead of the spear. Or maybe let him get real good at throwing shit. If he can pierce a shield with enough force to also kill the man behind it, he can play lawn darts with a few metal arrows.
