Isekai Munchkin -HP 1 no Mama de Saikyou Saisoku Danjon Kouryaku- - Vol. 4 Ch. 18 - The Subject of Money

@Meridis
You are perfectly reasonably angry for the pointless yen comparison; at least he didn't try to introduce fucking "fair prices"... I swear, I've read Uncle Scrooge stories with a more realistic economy

@matchsticks Changing names of certain spells is (as I understand it) mostly to remain legally distinct. Making a series based on a copyrighted game system is usually risky business in and of itself, so some notable names and numbers have to be changed to avoid getting lawyers hounding the writer. The most we can do is giggle at the goofy name alterations in the same way one might make fun of localization names.

@Beregorn
You're not wrong, as retarded as D&D economics are, they pale in comparison to that of most isekai manga. "Fair prices" indeed. It like the most retarded version of fucking socialism applied to a fantasy setting.

Wait, what? 1 gold is 10000 yen?

50gp is one pound of gold. That's 3.162 million yen. Should be at least in ballpark of 60000 yen per coin.

they really did world building on currency and they explained it not to the MC, but have the MC explain it to the world's residents...

Don't particularly like how they show the MC beating himself up over using people. Sure he has ulterior motives but not only do other MCs in manga have done it, its something that happens normally in real life. Just don't think its something worth beating yourself up for, the things he has done aren't even evil besides pawning Rosinante and although I didn't like that, it was just pawning it.

never fails, dumbass shit of "1 coin = x yen" even though it's impossible for there to be any kind of conversion rate between yen and this world's currency. fucking retarded mangakas
