Isekai Omotenashi Gohan - Vol. 2 Ch. 7.2 - The Medicinal Herb Seller and Plum Work ②

When did this story about home cooking for a little sister become a story about alcohol?

@Vasqueztion I mean... it's not a completely unwelcome change...

Some raw mysticism always makes my heart throb. In the best way.

@Vasqueztion
Stuck taking care of ppl and drinking go hand in hand... If you ever have kids or have to take care of an old person for an extended period of time you'll understand

That's how elves should look like; creepy but beautiful and young but ageless.
Damn, I was afraid something bad was about to happen, but this was sweet. I liked it.

The fact that the elves have the exact same 'plum' cuisine coupled with her gift (which strongly resembles Kiriko cut glass) certainly gives the feeling that the elves are Japanese.

-make good food and wine
-offer to the gods
-gain favor of the gods
-become god

>Plums are dangerously poisonous

...What? All stone fruits seeds/kernels/whatever are toxic to SOME degree (well, I mean, there's few things that WON'T kill you if you ingest enough of it), but... I'm not aware of plums that have dangerous levels where you can't just eat them (unless it's some east asian variation).

The same can't be said for cherries. The cherry pit is safe to swallow intact, it won't harm you. However, there are cyanide compounds in the pit that will be rather harmful if exposed to air. So... don't eat crushed/cracked/split cherry pits. Thankfully the human liver is good at dealing with small concentrations of naturally occurring cyanide, so it's unlikely to be lethal, but... Don't chance it.
