if not then them not having fixes for that "strange" disease which will probably be methane or co2 poisoning is beyond ridiculous

i mean i could also bitch about the coke but discovering that depends on opportunity and necessity so having not discovered it in a magical fantasy world is not inexcusable

but coal miners encounter gas poisoning all the time and will thus search for ways to counter it, so them needing the isekai'ed mc to save the day is pretty much unbelievable

only other excuse i would accept would be that they only did pit mining till now even if that would be like dragging it out by the short hairs
