@GodGinrai seems to be an issue with some of the viewer modes; happens for me on the legacy longstrip mode. The images URLs are incorrect; its loosing a /data/ after the hostname

So they are criminals but the audience will simpatize with them because "slavery is bad"...

@mahtan I thought we're pretty much back to the big plot, no?
- In chapter 8, we were introduced about the phrase (the cricket one).
- In chapter 24, Leen informed us about phrase invasion (the snake one) and their name as well as the start of the subplot (Babylon heritage).
- In chapter 33, Babylon herself informed us about what happened in the past (confirmed Leen's phrase invasion tales and their sudden disappearance) and also Ende's mystery.
-In this chapter (ch. 36), Touya found a phrase (manta ray) and adding more mystery on Ende's character.
So, if any we are back on track again?

We never left the plot it just don't move forward.
As you pointed we have know about the phrase since chapter 8 and so far nothing changed since chapter 8, we didn't even got any character development for any of the main characters it was all non-important side quest followed by exposition dump that does nothing to advance the plot, rinse and repeat untill now.
Touya keeps being an idiot that does nothing to learn to use his magic better and just banks on he being OP and having unlimited mana. The side chicks didn't changed anything since their first appearance and are as useless as they were then. The characters keep putting themselves in situations that have nothing to do with them for no reason other than "plot" worse is that it is not even "plot" because that would entail the plot moving forward because of it...
The story is lost and has no idea where it should be right now and that return to the phrase hook is it attempting to get back on track on anything that at least look like a story.

@mahtan but the mc wants a slow-life, as we can see that he's pretty much satisfied with what he already has? It's always people or situation around him that makes the story move forward. He has 0 ambition that's why the crawling character growth (he will always be an idiot too, only "smart" in certain occasion) and the passiveness. But when someone is being satisfied with what he/she has, will he grow? I don't believe so. So this is pretty much in character?
This is pretty much a plot-driven story, it's always the situation that gets our characters not the way around. All what you've said, is coming from a character driven story, which is not what this series is. A plot-driven story with 0 motivation character, the story will stuck on place as long as the plot doesn't catch him up and I guess that's why it frustrates you.

@mahtan About the adventurer slave story, Ialso found ot a bit suspicious but Yumina have an ability to determine people characters and they are all okay so we are suppose to leave it at that I guess? Totally random events to add in, probably will show its importance later.
