The monster on page 8 was Maple's later devil/demon transformation from the chain quest for angel form, right?
I thought it was more bigger and creepy looking with extra limbs?
Reading about that form of Maple reminds me of the cursed creatures in Mononoke Hime or Kaonashi from Spirited Away.
I think it's been a couple years since I last read the novel which was around Maple soloing the boss of the oni area..?
