I would say it's best to read up to chapter 3 as chapter 4 and 5 delves into the other guy's past, and involves pedophilia and rape. This author's works seem to involve underaged boys quite a bit, or at least an age gap of adult x teen I think.
The story as a whole was an interesting premise with the time traveling , but in the end excusing the abuse he went through from his foster father as "he was bad, but he did love you in his own way" sort of schtick is never ok. It's ok to not forgive him, he doesn't owe the guy anything. Abuse as depicted in those chapters isn't love and it just makes this work extremely shallow. While I did like the art, the last two chapters left a bad taste.
I can get having abuse, it builds drama, character, etc, even though it seemed highly unnecessary here. What I don't like is the fact that his "angel" excused that behavior. The first was that Jade didn't know what he went through, yet went with the assumption that the foster dad was probably bad but he still loved the other ML. The second was that despite giving obvious signs of being an abuse victim, he cried and accepted those words Jade said in the end, claiming he was a horrible person but he still called him father.
I can't fault him for continuing to call him dad so much as being angry that Jade pushes for him to accept the shallow inheritance as a sign of love. For all we know it could've been the man's ego or regret, seeing as how when the foster father was stabbed, all he said was to cover up what happened out of concern of the family's reputation and to say "he stabbed himself."
Everything the foster father did was never a single act of love. Period.
Sorry for the rant. I'm just infuriated. I started off reading this and while the first three chapters made me scratch my head, it wasn't so bad and was an ok story. It goes downhill with 4 & 5 and now I'm angry. I really don't recommend this manga.
