I'm definitely trying to figure out if this is about second-class citizens living lives of banal ennui in a soul-oppressing system, with bits of inner rebellion and imaginative escape, or if it's about second-class citizens who were doing that stuff ending up doing something important that somehow makes a difference to it all.
Different, and a bit hard to follow, but interesting.
