Jikai no Death Game ni Gokitai Kudasai!! - Vol. 1 Ch. 8 - Cryptanalysis XXX

@Tanzanite The "tanuki" code Kawanaka used is so famous that if you're Japanese, you'd have to be too young to read or living under a rock to not know it. It's the kind of brainteaser you'd find on the back of cereal boxes, and about as easy to crack as pig latin.

In Japanese, 'nuki' is a form of a verb meaning "to take out", so 'tanuki' suggests "taking out 'ta'." Take out every instance of the syllable "ta" from the text and (ta)-dah, you've got the solution.

Oh, so that's what it was! I was thinking about it for a very long time but still got nothing out of it. Thank you for the explanation!
