@magykpanda Yes, I understood that part. But it has been weeks since she was banished from the Ducal Household so why are they just now hearing about a carriage falling into a river with her aboard? She obviously didn't do that and we haven't seen anything explaining why they would think it was her in the carriage.

Nothing about her family faking the death to hide her disappearance or a plot to draw out the first prince. Heck, not even a good natured plan to convince the First Prince she was dead to get him to stop obsessing over her.
