@Jeirien: "The entrapment" being that he had sex with them by his own will. I am not saying that blackmail is right, but he's kind of getting his just desserts.
I believe you understand now that there's not much similar, and the reason some people are outraged. To add to this you're talking about the manga and not the one-shot.
I agree however that the elf spell in the manga was pretty close - I don't think anyone would disagree.
@Jeirien: It is the one-shot Peter Grill's based on so I took some liberties, it's pretty obvious what I am talking about in the context of your convo - check your first post. Doesn't make my point any less valid either. Peter's Grill prototype was definitely not raped, so stating that it's "similar" is outright wrong. There are no double standards in this case.
@Jeirien: With the major difference that you can choose to act or not to act upon arousal - it is your decision, while there is no choice with the spell. So the two are as similar as consensual sex and rape. Think of the spell as a drug if that will make it easier to understand what is happening.
I don't get either why you believe that the comment section is not meant for discussions either. I am fairly certain we're keeping the discussion very civil by Internet standards.
@criver if the spell is a drug then sexual arousal is also as it is just the brain ordering secretion of hormones that is a chemical. Female rape victims actually get aroused based on their testimonies which make them feel bad.
@Jeirien: You're taking things out of context. I clearly said that in the first case the party has a choice and in the second case the party does not have a choice. So if you want to use the drug analogy then you need to pick a drug that makes you unable to have any choice in the matter. The point is - there's a pretty clear definition of rape - having no choice in the matter qualifies as such. I would emphasize again that your statement about the 2 cases being "similar" is wrong. The cases are as similar as consensual sex and rape. Peter Grill consents even if under the influence of his libido - he is accountable for his own actions. They didn't drug him nor did they force him. The demon did not have a choice - she was forced to have sex.
I don't really get which part is hard to understand.
I don't even know why people are discussing if this was rape or not.
It wasn't, there's no law or common sense in the world that can define this case as rape since the other part isn't a human.
The question is, was the guy affected by the spell too?
And how powerful the spell actually is? (versus the demon just being a hormone-addled teenager)
