This manga went a different direction than I expected. Diving into issues of the ensemble cast is a little jarring when there's also the war narrative, but it's not unwelcome. I wish these character mini-arcs were ordered differently.
Honestly it's a shame the author even went for human conflict. If he's gonna have them be eternal wussies, he should have focused the story on the survival aspect.
