i only noticed on the third read of this chapter (thanks dogpark for making me look at it again) that the reason josuke's second shot missed was because the bug suddenly grew and deflected it. which helps make things make more sense, except... those bubbles can go through walls and through "the calamity" and logic and whatever else, but not the stone bug? damn.
