Jojo's Bizzare adventure? Worth reading it or watching the anime, and where to start?

Basically title. Ive seen countless jojo memes throught the years, but have never considered picking it up. Recently though, ive seen the new manga from JJBA is one of the top in terms of ranking, so i have been wondering whether or not to entertain the idea of watching/reading it.

So, is it better to watch the anime or read the manga first, and if so, do you start from the very beginning or from one of the middle series?

I personally got influenced by the anime first, then after that I could appreciate the manga much more.
So from me, I recommend you to watch the anime first.

As to where it start, while obviously if you want to know more on what's what in the Jojo universes, you might want to watch it from the very beginning, which is "JJBA Part 1: Phantom Blood".

But, if you're fine not knowing some stuff but still want to join in what's the fuss all about, you should watch the middle series, which is "JJBA Part 3: Stardust Crusaders".
There's a lot of hilarious and awesome stuff in part 3 which also most Jojo memes (that I can remember) came out of, an of course the.. *main thing.. the author decided to use from there and forward through out the series.
