Hayasaka will always be welcome. This AU is a bit weird, but who cares? We got Haysaka-sensei, Shirogane-sensei, and Kaguya-chan.

The best part of Kaguya-sama is that every character has a more or less genuine relationship with everyone else. I haven't seen any doujinshi that take advantage of this, but I feel like there are ways to write just about any ship convincingly, sweetly, and with chemistry.

God I love this pair even more than the official main one. I hope the author can settle on this AU and make it's own story from here forward. Or at least, stretch this for a little while, because honestly this official doujin probably won't survive with the old "forced ecchi situation" format, it was fun but it burns through it's charm real quick.

Interesting, so we're going full alternate timeline here. Better than trying to force ecchi stuff into the original series' premise; the other spinoff is much more in-line with that framework anyway. Might as well make this its own thing.

@Logic You've got a point there. I'd just prefer him to have an actually good romantic possibility, instead to the generic good girl school idol (well, she isn't actually that bad) and... Iino, whatever her role is at this point.

My point about Hayasaka needing a good love interest that for god's sake isn't Shirogane still stands. This is even acknowledged in series. Hope the mangaka writes a spinoff covering this.
