It seems to be a recurring pattern in this story (the villains win/good guys lose or die). Give away a bit of hope only to sap it away. Torture porn. Literally child abuse level.

The cute art style and introductory chapter mood is bait unlike a Series of Unfortunate events where it's more blatant... Also Kinda like Roland Roland/Madoka. Or those old 17th centuries tales of caution warning children not to stray away like Hansel Gretel and Little Red Riding Hood.

So is this whole story just going to be the MC not actually doing anything while bad things happen to/around them? I feel like that will get old fast.
