This is what manga does, it appeals to the male fantasy.
OWNING LAND.

Ryoma: SHE'S READING MY MIND!!
Old lady: I can't read minds.
Also, Old lady: proceeds to read mind

I really want to see how the building looks!
I've imagined such a strange thing when I read the WN... Kind of got a old Runescape Draynor Village bank vibe, with a side entrance and a long building instead of a front entrance...

The real fantasy in this series, more fantasy and unbelievable than any magic or divine blessing seen before:
Successful and straightforward entrepreneurship. Buying well-positioned property outright for a reasonable cost (with shockingly low taxes) and having the resources and backing to create a business, hire good employees, and be basically guaranteed to corner the market and garner goodwill with your innovations. The cleaner slimes naturally maintain themselves, reproduce in proportion to the amount they eat, and require no pay. The entire store can be managed by one person comfortable with slimes, and the overhead cost is entirely in buying the land and laundry bags and paying their limited upkeep. He can go adventure with basically no loss of business prospects, and has close ties now with every major figure in local business and regional politics, as well as the goodwill of the community he plans to provide services to. Literally the only meaningful downside is that he has to learn basic management skills and to delegate responsibilities, which is something that will end up being incredibly useful to him anyways. He even has 60-70 years of life ahead of him as a child to grow the business and accumulate wealth via reinvestment and diversification of his business into new slime-based ventures and properties.
The ultimate capitalist wish-fulfilment fantasy. The ghost of Adam Smith is climaxing in the heavens just seeing this setting written out. Even as an amateur armchair economist, I feel a little dirty reading it back. Whew.

"Sergei, another isekai descendant from mother russia? Of course not, isekai is exclusive to the japanese population."

Thanks for the update. Merchant guild head is strangely 85% I'd envisioned her to be, well it was a straightforward description. Hmm... Kinda like how they made it much easier here on how Ryoma chose the land, if I remember it right in the reboot, he had been recommended 3 locations of which he himself had to look all over town to inspect it himself. Its great that this was simplified with 3 capable and nice merchants that actually are willingly helping him even with their suggestions. Looking forward on how they'll cut down the building store process (too much description on the reboot on how he did it but I admit, it WAS a fulfilling read) and how the store will look like!

NANI??? He spent 650/50 = 13 years of living expenses on a burnt down building? Let's say low level western living expense 10k per year x3 for a "noble" x 13 years is around 400k. That's very expensive for a burnt down building.

I got reincarnated into another world to fulfill my capitalist fantasies LOL

Thanks for the chapter!
