I wish the entire manga was only about this arc, but fleshed out in more detail. No other ladies (with maybe the exception of Mami in the first few chapters and never seen again). With no other female presence the quality has gone up quite a lot IMHO.

The MC is still way out of his league, but at least, he's not a complete bumbling idiot.
No Harem, just a girl slowly falling in love with a guy that is already crazy about her.
A great plot (making a movie), with a clear deadline (literally...).

It reminds me a bit of Koe no Katachi. It's not as good (because, come on, Koe no Katachi is a freaking masterpiece), but it's good.

The relationships and storyboard aside, this is actually a pretty good depiction of life for youngsters. When you can't get hired, you create your own job! The consequences of not being able to is what should be highlighted more in society, but for a story meant to be enjoyable then it's fine like this.
