Actually, that whole section was translated very faithfully.
I think it's more a matter of her saying it very normally. She's not making a big deal about it herself, but that's just how she feels about it.
However the content itself is obviously a big deal, and as she often does, she acts very coyly here to try and goad him into saying something embarrassing.

@planofinaction I see this trope of "Hey, did you watch that show last night?" Often enough in Manga that I have to wonder if Japanese students are all secretly full of espers, pop culture experts, or if they have an extremely limited amount of channels.

Personally I'm banking on Esper, I mean, just look it the size of her forehead.

We had about a hundred channels and I only ever watch movies on TV...so I've never had that sort of conversation with my friends.
