it's way better than most shounen series where powerups only come from NAKAMA or offscreen training. Shiki ISN'T strong, so he has to be smart. and i was wondering when we'd get back to chp 1 kabane monster limbs

Really enjoying this progression. Sometimes powerup scenes are boring just waiting for the characters to figure out obvious ways to improve themselves, but for Shiki it was just to be clever about his string usage. For Akira it was literally pushing himself into a pinch - his emotional and physical limits to the point that he ignores all his anxieties. And for Kabane... he has to accept the part of himself he's most scared of and has worked the hardest to repress.
